A Summer Update to Our Valued Community
Dear Community,
Here at SUNY Press, we are proud to bring you a wide offering of diverse scholarly works and distinguished general interest titles each year, while supporting the commitments of SUNY to teaching, research, and public service. As we reflect on the past few years, how the world changed since 2020 and how our community of authors, editors, book sellers, and consumers braved the pandemic, we feel grateful for human nature’s resilience and willingness to adapt. In our operations as elsewhere, we dealt with supply chain shortages accompanied by significant price increases in both paper and shipping costs. During this time, we kept our pricing steady and focused tirelessly on getting the work done. As we now settle in and begin our new fiscal year, inflation has continued in our business and personal lives and we must adjust our prices. This decision was not made lightly and is necessary to maintain the health of our organization now and in the long term. Our price increases reflect market norms and are implemented with a lasting desire to remain available to all. They will allow us to continue our commitment to exceptional publications and scholarly pursuits.
