Meet our New Director of Marketing & Sales
SUNY Press is thrilled to welcome Tanja Eise as its new Director of Marketing & Sales.
Tanja holds a B.A. in English from William Smith College and an M.A. in Comparative Literacy & Cultural Studies from the University of Arizona. She began her professional journey as an English and German teacher before entering the world of publishing at Pearson, where for more than 20 years she held positions in both Editorial and Sales across several higher education divisions and disciplines. Tanja had progressive successes in content development and custom publishing, sales strategy and management, and business systems consulting. She delivered increasingly complex and innovative learning solutions in rapidly changing environments to some of Pearson’s highest profile customers. Her ability to think critically and strategically, deliberate and collaborate, build trust and relationships, and identify and grow talent has resulted in several awards for both she and her teams.
Tanja is driven by her love of books, teaching, and belief that peoples’ lives can be changed through learning. Her commitment to DEI and equal opportunity is evidenced in her role as a DEI Advocate and Kiva Ambassador for Pearson. She finds our work at the Press to be purposeful and meaningful and is excited to contribute to our mission.
When Tanja is not working, she can often be found at the top of a mountain, hiking or skiing. She volunteers regularly with a local food pantry and serves as a board member of the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, which is a land conservation organization devoted to protecting undeveloped forests and ecologically important swaths of land in Rensselaer County, NY.
